wisdom
One of the most powerful things I learned about being a teacher is that it's my job to REACH, not teach. I can extend the information, but it's up to the student/s to grab on to what's presented. I guess this applies to my jewlery too. I've discovered in the past year that I HAVE to create. My spirit stagnates without an outlet for creative expression, a challenge. and it's really important to get out of my grad studies head! I stopped doing beadwork for over a year, because the pieces were just sitting around in a box... since I was no longer doing shows. When I decided to give almost everything away and just create for the sheer joy, my creativity came back!
Butterfly Queen - I'm still not sure I did this gorgeous stamping justice... serene face, lepidolite and glass beads.
Tiger - just got back from a visit to the Columbus Zoo, where I fell quite a bit in love with a young tiger. Sweet kitty face... that I'm reminded would eat me given the chance! Art mirroring life... dicro focal, onyx cab with fabulous lampwork from Israel. Meow.
